As part of Department of Conservation and Recreation Natural Heritage Program 25th Anniversary Field Days, DCR plans a Crow’s Nest Field Day on Saturday, October 8, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Guided hikes and a natural history interpretation by DCR Natural Heritage and Stafford County staff are planned. Please call DCR’s Neil Gunter at 804-396-4327 or visit the DCR website to secure a reservation. Space is limited to 80 participants, so call early to reserve your place! Please note that this is an outdoor event and will include hikes between 2-4 miles long. Casual clothes and comfortable shoes are recommended. There is no rain date – hikes will proceed rain or shine.

The Crow’s Nest Natural Area Preserve has not yet been opened to the public, so this is your chance to see the rewards of all your hard work to protect the Crow’s Nest peninsula from development!
